You can apply online for admission to participating colleges and have your transcripts sent electronically to those colleges.

Benefits of using online applications through IllinoisMentor include:
- Ease of use
- When you have a My Mentor account, information from your profile will automatically complete sections of the application.
- Information saved from one application will automatically populate fields on subsequent applications.
- You can save your work and finish completing an application at a later date.
- Free of charge
- Note: Some colleges may require a standard admission application-processing fee, which will be indicated on the application.
- Electronic Transcripts
You can request that your official transcript be sent electronically from your high school or college to the college you wish to attend when you apply for admission online through IllinoisMentor.
Both the high school or college supplying your transcript and the college to which you request your transcript be sent must participate in this exchange process.

How does the Transcript Exchange work?
- Your high school or college (if they participate) electronically sends your transcript to the Transcript Exchange.
- You enter information into the Transcript Manager. This information is matched to your transcript in the Transcript Exchange. If a match is found, you will be prompted to release your transcript. If no match is found, talk with your counselor or registrar if you would like him or her to make your transcript available.
- The college to which you released the transcript will download your transcript from the Transcript Exchange.
- Through Transcript Manager, you can see the colleges to which you've released transcripts, when those transcripts were released, and when each college receiving your transcript downloaded it.
If you are submitting an online application to a college participating in this transcript exchange process, you may release your transcript at the same time you submit your online application.
You can also use the Transcript Manager to release transcripts to one or several participating colleges.
